Search and text size
Choose Search (the magnifying glass), then This page or Whole reference. Search starts with This page when you are viewing a reference page.
Use Text size (Aa) on iPhone and iPad browsing screens, or the View menu on Mac. Your choice is saved.
Code examples
Copy copies the entire original code block, including prompts and output. Select text to copy only part of a block. The app displays examples; it does not run Python code.
Windows and tabs
On Mac, you can open multiple windows or tabs. Links to another page from a reference page open a new tab; links from indexes and links within the same page stay in the current tab. Use Back and Forward to revisit earlier locations. iOS supports a single window.
Privacy policy
On your device
The reference is bundled with the app, and browsing and search work on your device. Ref Python makes no app network requests and has no account, advertising, analytics or tracking. The app does not collect or send personal data to the developer.
Your text size preference is stored locally. Navigation and search state are temporary; the app does not save browsing or search history.
Clipboard and external links
When you choose Copy, the selected code block goes to the system clipboard. Copied text may be available on your other Apple devices through Universal Clipboard, depending on your settings.
External links open in your browser or email app. Those apps and destination services follow their own privacy policies.
Support email
If you email for support, the developer and email provider process your address and message, retaining correspondence as needed to respond and follow up. Use the support email for privacy questions.
